RURAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT SURVEY AT LALITY, BAY OF BRAHMAPUTRA, JORHAT
Pathik started a survey of the area Lality Chapori a location 35 KM Road away from Jorhat Town and 3.5 Km foot distance on 24th August, 2024. Here, mainly people of Missing Community lives. Their main living life is through farming. Some people farms and others smart ones take the products to the market. Women mainly do the weaving.
This area is mainly affected by flood. The people became used to the flood situation. They never panic on flood. They build their houses such a way that the water passes through the houses. Uses small wooden boats for communication during the flood. But, still these people are so loving that they never complains regarding their pathetic conditions of survival.
About 250 families have their habitants at Lality about 2 KM of radius. No school there. Some boys goes 7 KM aways for their pre and primary schooling. Most of the boys and girls are illiterate.
Pathik, is targeting the economical development through their strength, which is Farming in the first Phase of the Project. Then the development of Education.
